Contract synopsis
Since mobilising both contracts in October 2023, we have developed a tailored approach that aligns with the unique needs of both KMPT and KCHFT while fostering the growth of small and medium size SMEs.
We engaged with the SMEs who were not already part of Mears’ talent pool, in the vicinity of the Trusts’ estate, to identify new, local suppliers and service providers.
We recognise that the healthcare industry can be dynamic and have taken into consideration the Trusts’ plans for future expansion, which will bring changing needs and priorities.

What have we achieved?
Since mobilising the contract, we have completed major works and routine works on void rooms to ensure they are ready for use by the Trust’s patients. This demonstrated an increase in void readiness and bed space availability due to our proactive and efficient approach in delivering our services and understanding the needs of our clients.
Our expert team have delivered refurbishment works to a number of rooms which were out of use following concerns from a healthcare professional and a judge. The works were completed to a tight deadline, meaning the rooms could be re-opened for business as usual – helping to deliver patient services and care.
