The Extra Care team, who are based at three schemes across Bromley, received the Team Award at a ceremony held at the council offices recently.
The nomination recognised the whole team’s commitment to continuously providing a high standard of care to service users and ensuring that they are treated with respect and dignity.
Care worker, Debbie O'Donnell who works at Shortlands Extra Care Scheme in the town was also recognised with the Care Worker Award. Her nomination said:
Debbie always puts the service user (SU) at the heart of everything she does. Having worked for Mears for 18 years, she understands the importance of ensuring the SU can live as independently as possible, which is why she has built strong relationships with GP’s, pharmacies, and family members so they have everything they need.
Trina Oliver, Regional Director, Mears Extra Care, commented:
l am over the moon with the outcome, and this comes down to working hard as a team and achieving great results which has been recognised within the London Borough of Bromley.
Mears Care contract in Bromley started in 2017 and has been extended three times, which is testament to the commitment and dedication of the team and the difference that they are making in delivering an exceptional standard of care, which has been recognised by families and professionals, as well as the awards panel.
