Mears has been ranked in 19th place out of 150 organisations, for its focus on offering employment, development, and succession opportunities to everyone, irrespective of their background.
This year’s ranking builds on the success of being placed 38th in 2023, marking a significant achievement for the group and demonstrating its continued commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
The leading accreditation is a rigorous assessment of the steps being taken by employers to create a culture where everyone can thrive, leading to a more representative, innovative, and successful workplace. It is achieved through a combination of benchmarking the company’s approach to social mobility with data-led evidence.
This year, the assessment commended the business for its work with many schools across the UK, which is part of Mears’ approach to outreach and its initiatives working with young people.
Jo Fry, Group Head of HR said:
We’re proud to be recognised for the work we’re doing to create a fairer and more inclusive culture. We recognise that a truly diverse and inclusive workforce is key to the future success of the business.
Creating the right culture and environment for our people to succeed is an important part of our approach and we continue to take steps to ensure diversity and inclusion is embedded across every part of our business.
