Liz Evernden, an Adminstrator at Mears Medway branch, has been recognised with an award by Kent Housing Group (KHG).

The KHG Excellence Awards celebrate the best of the best in Kent’s housing sector, recognising teams and individuals across the county for their best projects and partnerships across housing in Kent and Medway.

Liz was the winner in the Associate Professional category, following a nomination by our client, Medway Council. The winners were announced at an awards ceremony last week at Eastgate in Northfleet, hosted by Becs Wilcox of KHG’s Events Group.

The nomination said:

Liz is one of those people for whom nothing is too much, and she really goes the extra mile to help. Not only does she provide excellent customer service in her day-to-day role (for which we have received a number of compliments from residents), but she has gone above and beyond to support Medway Council’s Housing Team with a number of events.
Liz builds a great rapport with our residents and members of the community, helping to create positive engagement opportunities. On top of this, Liz has also undertaken a lot of social value work, organising raffles and toy donations to benefit local charities and families.

Brian Horton, KHG Chair, said:

I know that for KHG members, housing delivery is a passion, not a job. The awards are always special. Over the years the judging panel has been touched by the passion and purpose behind the vital contributions colleagues in housing are making in Kent. The ideas, the innovation and the vision that are demonstrated illustrate the caring side of housing and the drive we have to make a difference.
Our housing sector faces considerable challenges but seeing so many success stories gives us enthusiasm for the art of the possible and enables us all to go back to the day job fully inspired by what we have seen and heard.

Vicky Bowles, General Manager, Medway contract added:

I’m delighted that Liz has won, as it’s thoroughly deserved. She’s already a winner in our eyes, but it’s fantastic that her professionalism and commitment to going above and beyond has also been recognised by our client.
