Skyline Lounge officially opened to residents

The completion of the work to revamp the St John’s high rises took a step closer as the much anticipated Sky Lounge in Worcester officially opened its doors to residents in December 2014.The lounge, which is on top of Cripplegate House has a modern seating area with a kitchen for residents to use and extensive, beautiful views through the large glass windows across the city.Fortis Living’s Executive Director of Growth and Investment Richard Grounds commented, “This is a great example of our commitment to improving the homes and communities of our residents. Fortis Living has invested £5 million in the iconic high rises giving them a clean modern look in keeping with Worcester’s skyline. The Sky Lounge is one of the highlights of the revamp and it is fantastic that we can now hand it over to the residents’ to enjoy..”David Ludlow from Mears, who carriedout the work, said: “Mears is proud to work in partnership with Fortis Living to develop and transform the iconic tower blocks. The Sky Lounge is the ideal place for residents to relax and take in breath taking views across the city. We would like to thank residents and the local community for their support and understanding during the building works.”Residentshave supported the work which includes a new façade with new external cladding, windows, balcony screens and rooftop gardens, boasting panoramic views of the city. New lifts have also allowed greater access to all floors.
